SHERAprint-set p1 polishing set for the easy polishing of splints made of light-curing 3D printing plastics.
Bite or grinding splints are intended to relieve patients and help alleviate various complaints. They must meet high standards in terms of quality, comfort and aesthetics. Even after long periods of wear, the splints should still look good and remain transparent. To achieve this, dental technicians often polish the splints in a very laborious process involving many steps. And yet some splints made of 3D printed plastic remain somewhat milky and have a bluish shimmer. The reason: the printed plastic is composed in such a way that it does not allow for high transparency. Other materials such as SHERAprint-splint taff and flex make it possible to print splints that are color-neutral and require little polishing.
In order to significantly reduce the amount of polishing required, SHERA Material Technology has put together a polishing set that allows splints, repositioners, mouthguards and nightguards to be easily polished to a high gloss in just a few steps and without a lot of accessories. The SHERAprint set p1 contains all the important components to easily achieve the perfect finish.

After printing, the splint can be polished directly on the work table with the handpiece in just a few steps. The remains of the coarse support structures can be removed with the Scotch Brite 25 mm, coarse. Any further unevenness is removed in the second step with the Scotch Brite HS 25 mm, fine. The splint can then be polished to a final shine with the high-gloss polishing emulsion SHERALUX 711 and the cotton buff 22 mm. Experienced dental technicians can polish to a high gloss in around ten minutes. Do you want it to go even faster or do you have a lot of splints waiting for their high-gloss finish at the same time? Then the polishing motor with pumice paste and an 80 cotton buff is a good alternative.

In dental technology, anything that goes into the mouth is always a medical product. The highest quality standards are set for it. This requirement for the medical product must of course also be taken into account when polishing. It is always the responsibility of the technician who manufactures the medical product to guarantee this and to choose a suitable method.
