SHERAeasy-base | more than a tray software

How dentists and dental technicians cooperate better

Sheraeasy-base makes impressions easier

We are talking about a new stand-alone software for 3D printing of individual trays to bite registrations. In the process for which a patent has been applied, the shape and design of the individual tray are matched to the impression material.

The Impression Revolution

The parameters of the most common methods such as monophase, double mix or correction impressions are stored in the software. Since each material has different properties, such as flow behaviour or hardness, the impression tray is automatically adapted to the different properties. An additional beading of the rim optimises the compression pressure and ensures uniform impressions.

The initial spark came from the dentist Dr. Jürgen Wahlmann.

Dr. Wahlmann is a scientifically active practitioner and international lecturer. With his concern to make impressions more reliable in the future, he met with open minded Shera engineers and dental technicians. Together, they have rethought the process by taking a standard tray software, determining decisive parameters and transferring them into a digital workflow. In the end, the trays designed with Sheraeasy-base can be produced in a short time on the 3D printer. The prerequisite for this is a print system that can process open Stl files. In this context, the patient number or the name of the patient can be printed directly into the tray handle.

Impressions can mean stress for both the patient and the dental practice staff. But also for the dental technician, who then has to precisely fit a prosthetic restoration based on the impression.

Often the technicians have to struggle with faulty impressions.

Often the technicians struggle with faulty impressions that are difficult or even impossible to read: Prep margins are not visible, parts of the jaw are not apparent, because the impression material was not uniformly distributed to all areas. The list of possible sources of error is long.

In order to generate a reliable, precise working basis with the impression, the individual trays play a decisive role. Sheraeasy-base is dedicated to this concern. The positioning and diameter of the holes as well as the arrangement of the outlet for excess impression material play a major role. An additional brim of the edge optimises the compression pressure and helps to distribute the material evenly.

Save up to 40 percent on impression material

Dr Jürgen Wahlmann has found that these designed trays can save up to 40 percent of impression material because only the material that is really needed is placed on the tray. In addition, the risk of having to make bad impressions again, which would cost time and material as well as the nerves of everyone involved, is reduced. Sheraeasy-base thus contributes to better communication and cooperation between dentist and dental technician.

Sheraeasy-base is compatible with any CAD environment that can process open Stl data. The software tool is designed in German and English operating languages.

It is available exclusively at Shera Werkstoff-Technologie. Interested parties can get to know Sheraeasy-base in a live demo and lecture on 10 May 2019 at Shera in Lemförde, on 30 August 2019 in Frankfurt and on 5 July in Munich.
